This butterfly wing.
There’s no denying that double exposure tattoos have the ability to take your breath away in a way that few other tattoo designs can. The details, the endless concept possibilities, the sheer amount of stuff going on makes the double exposure tattoo as captivating as any. This butterfly, or perhaps moth wing, features the insect’s natural environment.
This floral thigh piece.
Every once in a while a floral tattoo comes along that is so beautiful that you get the urge to frame it and mount it on the wall. This is one of those designs. Nando’s floral works of art have always been just that—works of art. And to all of you who say that bouquets aren’t as beautiful as stand alone flowers, this design tends to disagree.
These gorgeous fuchsia flowers.
I’ve only seen a few fuchsia designs, but after Nando’s stunning fuchsia piece a few weeks ago, I can say with all certainty that they are quickly becoming a favorite of mine. The way fuchsia flowers hang on their stems make them wonderful subjects for forearm designs.
This watercolor tree of life.
Out of all of Luna’s wonderful works, this design is definitely my favorite. The tree of life symbol used to be an extremely popular design, which has since become somewhat of a rare sight. However, once this list goes live I’m sure there will be a resurgence, if somewhat minor in nature;).
This floral triangle.
This floral triangular glyph brings back fond memories of the ᴛι̇ɱe we posted that masterpiece by Felipe Kross back in 2016. It was a design similar to this but featured hibiscus flowers where as this design samples three different varieties.
This crescent moon.
Floral crescent moon tattoos are a dime a dozen these days. We see them at literally every turn but for some reason we never get sick of them. The composition of this design, how the tattoo is visible though a tunnel of sheets or curtains, uses a creative framing effect to give the design more importance.
A sunflower.
Sunflower tattoos are all about summer. Roses, peonies, and tulips are all fine and dandy but none of them really scream seasonal more than sunflowers. Well, now that I think of it, tulips are pretty much as spring as spring ᴛι̇ɱe gets but you get the point.
This skater.
When it comes to impact and that “wow” factor, nothing beats a well executed realism design. With that being said, in order to pull off a realism work effectively, you need to have one hell of an artist. Because nothing looks worse than a realism piece that’s just a little off. Photorealism is the key. As in, the work should be almost indistinguishable from that of a photo.
This watercolor book.
Book tattoos are a popular concept because, well, who doesn’t love to read? Earlier we put together a list of book tattoos that was met with relatively good reviews and a decent number of shares and views. This design is one of my favorites, and if I had it way back then, you can bet it would have made that list.
These leg tats.
Just when you think you’ve seen it all, a design comes along that’s so beautiful, so innovative, and so bold that it takes your breath away. These designs replicate the look of leggings and make it almost imperative that you wear shorts no matter what the temperature outside may be.
