Shocking video shows a newborn baby girl with no arms or legs due to an extremely rare genetic disorder. The footage was recorded in Sakla village, Sironj Tehsil, Vidisha district on June 26th. According to reports, the baby was born with a rare congenital disorder called Tetra-Amelia, caused by a rare genetic mutation of the WNT3 gene that results in the absence of all four limbs.
The video shows a woɱaп holding the baby girl, who is wrapped in a cloth, revealing the missing limbs. However, despite being born with this disability, the baby is reported to be completely healthy, according to Dr. Suresh Aggarwal, a pediatrician at Rajiv Gandhi Smriti Hospital in Sironj.
Tetra-Amelia syndrome affects approximately one in every 100,000 newborns, according to Bhopal CMHO and pediatrician Mitchhakar Tiwari. Dr. Tiwari also stated that this is the first ᴛι̇ɱe he has seen a patient with this rare syndrome in his career.
A study by Dr. Eva Bermejo-Sanchez of the Congenital Anomaly Research Centre (CIAC) at the Carlos III Health Institute in Spain in 2011 found that the disorder occurs in about 1 in 71,000 pregnancies.
In ɱaпy cases, children with this syndrome have underdeveloped lungs, which can cause difficulty or inability to breathe. Therefore, doctors often recommend further testing to determine if the baby’s internal organs have developed normally.
