Even if they appear unique, dogs with disabilities are still deserving of love and affection. All they want is to feel accepted like anyone else would – no different.

One pooch with one ear recently did something particularly heartwarming that’s been melting hearts across the web.
Nestled in the SPCA of Wake County, Raleigh, North Carolina lies Bruno – a radiant and loyal pup who’s had his fair share of misfortune. Sadly, he is missing one ear due to an attack by another animal but despite this impediment still has plenty of love left to give!

On their Facebook page, the SPCA shared that Bruno had previously been chained up outside and suffered injuries after being attacked by another dog – so badly his ear was ripped off.
Yet Bruno refuses to be disheartened by his injury, and this month he did something unbelievably precious.
Bruno yanked off the ear of his beloved stuffed animal—the same missing appendage he was lacking. It was almost as if he were tearing apart the toy to replicate his visage.

The shelter declared, “Bruno is beyond perfect! Now he has a loyal friend who looks exactly like him to demonstrate it. We encourage you to keep being your authentic self, Bruno!”
Unsurprisingly, ɱaпy canines rip up their favorite toys, yet the affinity Bruno has for his is hard to ignore – even after he ripped off one of its ears. The more he plays with it, the more endeared to it he becomes.
Representation is crucially important, and children with varied backgrounds or special needs have reaped the benefits of being represented in their toys. It’s clear that dogs feel the same way – they too enjoy seeing themselves reflected in them!

Bruno embraces his differences and loves himself unconditionally, but sadly, differently-abled shelter dogs often get overlooked by those seeking to adopt. Despite the amazing qualities that these special pooches possess, their physical appearance too frequently inhibits potential adopters from welcoming them into loving forever homes.
Praise be, Bruno’s story had a happy ending! Just days after his picture went viral on social media, the shelter proudly announced that he found a loving forever home.
The SPCA of Wake County announced Bruno’s adopter loves him just as he is and promised to provide him with an abundance of unconditional love for the remainder of his life. Of course, Bruno’s beloved stuffed animal will be accompanying him on this new journey!

We could not be more thrilled that Bruno has a place to call home, and a cuddly companion to remind him that it’s alright to stand out!
