Precious Moments: Mother Holds Miscarried Newborn Daughter for Two Hours Before Saying Goodbye

M.iscarried Newborn Daughter Lives For Two Hours In Her Mother's Arms Before Passing Away.

The problem of infant and juvenile l.oss does not receive nearly enough attention and awareness. It is difficult to discuss a mother who has had a miscarriage or a baby who has only been alive for a few hours. A mother who briefly held her deceased daughter in her bosom before passing through a comparable experience.

Alyssa Young and her spouse were overjoyed with the birth of their first child, Scarlett. Due to her cerebral palsy and type 2 diabetes, Alyssa Young’s pregnancy was regarded to be at a high risk. Seven years ago, Justin and Alyssa Young met as teenagers and immediately fell in love and began making plans for their future together. They desired children and a beautiful family. Alyssa had an ultrasound in September of 2016. She was 19 weeks and 6 days expectant. The infant was healthy. Despite being diabetic and suffering from cerebral palsy, Alyssa did everything she could to ensure Scarlet’s safety.

Physicians insisted that she and Scarlett were healthy, but Alyssa sensed that something was amiss. Alyssa was transported to the Labor and Delivery unit on October 3, where doctors explained why she was in such excruciating pain.

“When we arrived at the hospital, the compassionate attendants ensured my comfort… After settling in, the on-call obstetrician stepped in to perform an exam. He informed us that I either had an incompetent cervix or that my body was attempting to abort our precious baby daughter.”

The physicians performed an ultrasound to ensure the fetus was healthy, but Alyssa’s cervix continued to expand despite the magnesium in her body. She was afflicted with cervical incompetence, a condition that effects one in one hundred women. Scarlett’s 20-weeks-and-5-days gestational age made her too immature to endure the protracted labor. Scarlett’s father ensured that the entire family was present for the procedure to say goodbye and salute to their daughter. During Scarlet’s two hours on our planet, however, her parents and numerous relatives were present to greet her and bid her farewell.

Her grandmother captured two hours of Scarlett with her family that were particularly inᴛι̇ɱate. Scarlett was unable to endure for more than two hours, but her mother is encouraging others to speak out against cervical incompetence.

“As I held her, she gulped for air,” she writes. I expressed my sincere regret. I told her I adored her. I told her to release her grip. Seeing your infant die and knowing you can do nothing to save them is a dreadful experience. You are powerless. Everyone took turns carrying her around. Everyone fell in love with her. She has only ever experienced affection.”

Scarlett survived for only two hours, but during that ᴛι̇ɱe, she was held, adored, and cared for by her entire family, with her mother holding her the entire ᴛι̇ɱe.

That’s sad but still nice. They even took ɱaпy photos of her and started a Facebook page to help out other mothers experiencing the same problem as Alyssa’s. That’s quite an achievement, all in the name of little Scarlet. I like that.
