An elderly Queensland ɱaп has returned home to find two massive snakes had “smashed” through his kitchen ceiling.
The ɱaп from Laceys Creek, north of Brisbane, discovered the gaping hole upon returning home on Monday morning.
Knowing there hadn’t been any recent rain or storms, his mind turned to something more ominous.

Soon enough, his fears were confirmed, when he discovered the two huge coastal carpet pythons in separate rooms in his home.
Steven Brown, from Brisbane North Snake Catchers and Relocation, esᴛι̇ɱated the snakes to weigh a combined 18kg, with one about 2.9m and the other 2.5m.
He said when he was told of the snakes, he thought the ɱaп would have left a door open overnight.

He was shocked after being shown the hole in the ceiling.
“He said, ‘They smashed through the ceiling in the kitchen’,” Brown told 7NEWS.com.au.

“I’ve never seen it, personally.
“The only ᴛι̇ɱe I’ve heard of it is up north, where they get the really, really big scrub pythons.

“It was a bit of an eye-opener.”
Brown said he was able to catch the snakes with little trouble, before safely releasing them elsewhere.
“They did have a couple of strikes at me only because they were scared,” he said.

“Once they knew I was there and I treated [them] the correct way, they realised I was not there to hurt them.
“They calmed down and were fine.”
He said he believed they were both male snakes which were “having a fight over a female that was somewhere nearby”.

“Mating season generally starts today, the first day of spring,” Brown said.
“But I’ve been going to jobs with males in combat with females over the past month.
“That’s due to the warm winter we had.”
