The TEBER Laser Guidance Kit developed by Roketsan turns free-fall general purpose boɱbs into guided munitions, capable of hitting their targets with high precision from long distances. TEBER can be integrated with MK-81 and MK-82 series general purpose boɱbs, providing the necessary infrastructure for a smart weapon system through its Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), Global Positioning System (GPS) and Semi-Active Laser (SAL) Seeker capabilities.
Allowing the user to rapidly integrate it with a general purpose boɱb even under field conditions, TEBER’s modular design stands out as an innovative and cost-effective solution.
The IMU and GPS that provide precision guidance are mounted on the tail section of TEBER, while the SAL Seeker mounted on the nose section of the boɱb gives the weapon system the ability to hit moving targets with high precision. A proximity sensor may also be added to the SAL Seeker section. TEBER’s tail section also offers logistical convenience to users with its ability to recognize the integrated boɱbs’ type.
TEBER has been included in the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces and has been used aboard F-16s following a series of successful tests conducted in 2018. It draws attention as a guidance kit that is highly popular among air forces not only in Turkey, but also all around the world.
Roketsan, states that TEBER is one of the best examples of Roketsan’s technological superiority and integration capabilities: “Looking at its subsystems, the SAL Seeker , GPS and IMU are all components that we have developed and integrated as part of different rocket, missile and ammunition projects. TEBER has allowed us to package all those subsystems so that free-fall general purpose boɱbs can be turned into smart munitions, and to offer an innovative solution. TEBER represents a new application approach, combining Roketsan’s capabilities in different areas.”
