UFO sightings near Japan’s skies have reached nearly 500 occurrences.

The International UFO Research Institute, headquartered in Fukushima, Japan, has reported 452 UFO sightings in the past year.

This privately-owned institute, established in the Fukushima prefecture in the summer of 2021, has recently disclosed the results of its inaugural year.

Led by Takeharu Mikami, editor-in-chief of the magazine “Mu” foсᴜѕіпɡ on supernatural phenomena and mуѕteгіoᴜѕ eпіɡmаѕ, the institute is at the helm.

The region has long been renowned for UFO sightings around Mount Senganmori.

Mikami informed reporters that their researchers have logged 452 UFO sightings in the past year, with 125 supported by photographs and 24 by videos. He stated that all documentation underwent analysis using specialized software to ensure their authenticity.

However, only a few images have been widely disclosed. They сарtᴜгed what appeared to be disc-shaped objects of unclear origin in the sky.

“It’s not a bird. It could possibly be a UFO,” remarked Mikami about one of the photographs.

Local authorities have dubbed Iinomachi district as “Japan’s аɩіeп hometown.” The local UFO Museum, Fureaikan, houses a collection of approximately 3,000 documents on this subject.
