Amid the transition from the old year to the new year, while everyone is enjoying the festivities with their loved ones, the image of Bin, a boy quietly sitting and begging with his beloved dog Lucky on the street, has touched many people’s hearts.
In the clip, Bin (12 years old) is seen sitting next to his dog Lucky, looking at the passersby. Every now and then, someone would drop some coins into his plastic bowl. While everyone is celebrating the new year, this heartbreaking image reminds us of the difficult lives that some people have to endure. Bin has had to try to sleep through hunger many times.

Every day, Bin and Lucky beg for food. Whatever they manage to beg for, Lucky always shares it with Bin.
Bin was abandoned by his parents when he was young, and now his only companions in life are his elderly grandmother and this little dog.
To Bin, Lucky is a beloved member of his family who he cannot live without.
As he feeds a piece of cake to Lucky, Bin shares: “There have been times when I couldn’t beg for any food and had to go to sleep hungry. I had to try to sleep through the hunger and wait until someone gives us something to eat. Whatever I eat, Lucky will eat the same.”
There are days when they can’t beg for any food, and both of them have to hug each other to sleep through the hunger.
Watching the crowd enjoying the New Year’s Eve festivities, Bin silently wishes for a home to live in, to be able to live like a normal person.
After Bin’s story was shared, many people expressed their sympathy and heartbreak for this strong 12-year-old boy.
Many people stepped forward to contribute whatever they could, some gave a little bit of food for Lucky, some gave clothes and blankets for Bin…all sharing the same desire to help both of them strive towards a better life amidst the hardships they face.
